Draughtsman10+2 with Science subjects. Two years Certificate in Architecture or Draughtsmanship from a recognized Institute OR two years National Trade Certificate for Draughtsman (Civil).
Hindi Typist10+2 from a recognized Board. Typing speed of 30 words per minute in Hindi on a computer.
Store Keeper Technical (SKT)10+2 from a recognized Board. Having store keeping knowledge relating to vehicles or engineering equipment.
Operator CommunicationMatriculation. Possessing Wireless Operator or Radio Mechanic Certificate OR a Defence Trade Certificate.
Operator Excavating MachineryMatriculation. Possessing a heavy motor vehicle driving license or Driving license for Dozer/Excavator.
ElectricianMatriculation. Possessing a certificate of Auto Electrician from Industrial Training Institute or equivalent.

Selection Process

The selection process for BRO GREF is strictly merit-based and consists of the following mandatory stages:

Stage 1: Written Examination: An OMR-based written test evaluated via an automated system. Questions will be bilingual (English and Hindi) and must be answered using a blue/black ballpoint pen.

Stage 2: Physical Efficiency Test (PET) & Trade Test (TT): Shortlisted candidates must undergo physical tests and trade-specific practical exams. These tests are qualifying in nature.

Stage 3: Primary Medical Examination (PME) & Document Verification (DV): A detailed medical fitness test per Border Roads Organization medical standards, accompanied by the verification of all original certificates.

Stage 4: Induction: Medically fit candidates are inducted for training at the GREF Centre, Pune before their final posting.

How to apply Online

Step 1: Visit the official website www.bro.gov.in and download the application form.

Step 2: Print the application form strictly on good quality A4 size bond (75 GSM) paper using one side only. Print the admit card on both sides of a single paper.
