POWERGRID is looking for professionals with experience in Transmission/ Tele Communication Systems at work sites for engagement on a fixed-term contract basis for its ongoing as well as anticipated projects across different regions of POWERGRID as well as in its subsidiaries, through the POWERGRID Common FTE Written Test- 2025.

Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- Field Engineer (Electrical): Full time B.E /B.Tech / B.Sc (Engg.) in Electrical discipline or equivalent discipline from recognized University / Institute with minimum 55% marks.
- Field Engineer (Civil): Full time B.E/B.Tech/ B.Sc (Engg.) in Civil discipline or equivalent discipline from recognized University / Institute with minimum 55% marks.
- Field Supervisor (Electronics & Communication): Full time Diploma in Electrical / Electronics & Communication / Information Technology or equivalent discipline from recognized Technical Board/ Institute with minimum 55% marks.

Age Relaxation:

Selection Process
Candidates will have to appear for POWERGRID – Common FTE Written Test-2025. The written test for all the provisionally eligible candidates will be conducted for all the posts on a PAN India basis in a single day.The scheme of the test shall be as following:
- Technical Knowledge Test – 50 questions based on B.Tech / BE/ Diploma (as applicable)
- syllabus in the relevant discipline.
- Aptitude Test – 25 questions tentatively on the following topics: General English: Articles, Prepositions, Vocabulary, Comprehension, Synonyms/Antonyms, Jumbled Sentences. Reasoning: Data Interpretation, Coding and Decoding, Deductive Logic, Inductive Logic, Data Sufficiency, Series Completion, Puzzles, Pattern Completion.
- Quantitative Aptitude: Ratio & Proportion, Time & Work, Speed & Distance, Profit & Loss, Simple & Compound Interest, Percentage, Average, Mensuration, Trigonometry, Geometry, Algebra, Probability, LCM & HCF, Numbers.
- General Awareness: Social Science, Science, Current Affairs, General Knowledge.
All questions would be MCQ type with 4 options and carry equal weightage (1 mark each) and there shall be no negative marking.
Qualifying marks would be a minimum 40% for Unreserved, including EWS and 30% for reserved vacancies (subject to reservation of vacancies).
Candidates shall have the option for appearing in the Common FTE written test in Hindi or English.
Salary Scale
Compensation & benefits for Field Engineer/Field Supervisor (excluding RDSS project):
- Field Engineers will be paid a monthly remuneration in the pay band of ₹ 30,000-3%-1,20,000/- with an initial basic pay of ₹ 30,000/- + Industrial DA + HRA+ Perks @ 35% of Basic Pay with an annual CTC of ₹ 8.9 Lakhs approx.
- Field Supervisors will be paid monthly remuneration in the pay band of ₹ 23,000-3%-1,05,000/- with initial basic pay of ₹ 23,000/- + Industrial DA + HRA+ Perks @35% of Basic Pay with an annual CTC of ₹ 6.8 Lakhs approx.
Compensation & benefits for Field Engineer/Field Supervisor (for RDSS project):
- Field Engineer will be paid monthly remuneration in the pay band of ₹ 30,000-3%-1,20,000/- with initial basic pay of ₹ 30,000/- + Industrial DA + HRA + Perks* with an annual CTC of ₹ 8.9 Lakhs approx. *Perks @ maximum 35 % of basic pay (shall be paid as Variable Pay, subject to performance criteria defined by Management).
- Field Supervisors will be paid monthly remuneration in the pay band of ₹ 23,000-3%-1,05,000/- with initial basic pay of ₹ 23,000/- + Industrial DA + HRA + Perks* with an annual CTC of ₹ 6.8 Lakhs approx. *Perks @ maximum 35 % of basic pay (shall be paid as Variable Pay, subject to performance criteria defined by Management).
On successful completion of every year of engagement, Field Engineer/ Field Supervisor will be eligible for annual increment at the rate of 3% during subsequent year of engagement. The increment will be given from the first day of the month subsequent to the month in which the candidate completes the year.

POWERGRID reserves the right to alter the test centers. The decision of POWERGRID regarding test centers shall be final and binding. Efforts will be made to allocate the choice of city opted by the candidate for the Common FTE Written Test in their application form. However, in exceptional circumstances, a nearby/different city may be allotted.

PGCIL Field Engineer and Supervisor Recruitment 2025 for 1543 positions is a great chance for graduates & engineering degree holders. Although the engagement shall be purely on a temporary & contractual basis for an initial period of 24 months or till completion of the project, whichever is earlier. The contractual period may be further extended for 01 year each for 03 years, for a maximum period of 05 years cumulatively, based on work requirement.
