Eligibility Criteria of HP Home Guard Recruitment 2026
Educational Qualification
You must have the right education to apply. Soldiers released under Agnipath Scheme (Agniveers) can also apply if they meet the education rules.

Salary and Benefits
- Pay: Rs. 977/- per day when called for duty (as fixed by Govt. now).
- Other Benefits: This is a volunteer role, so pay only during duty. No fixed salary. Includes training, uniforms and chance to serve in emergencies.
Selection Process of HP Home Guard Recruitment 2026
The process has three stages:
Stage 1: Physical Standard Test (PST) – Check height, chest, age and education. Done by a committee. Qualifying only.
Stage 2: Physical Efficiency Test (PET) – Qualifying nature, no marks. Video recorded. You must submit a “No Drug Use” certificate. If you fail any event, you are out.
Stage 3: Written Test & Merit: A written test of 50 marks covering Hindi, English, Mathematics (10th standard) and General Knowledge (about Himachal Pradesh). Marks are also awarded for educational qualifications, NCC, NSS, Sports, etc., to prepare the final merit list.
All selected must do 45-day basic training.
